A Space for Creativity & Exploration
I draw my inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, which views children as capable, curious, and full of potential.
This philosophy values child-led learning, where knowledge is built through exploration, collaboration, and hands-on experiences.
Rather than following a rigid curriculum, learning emerges from children’s interests, questions, and discoveries.
Our environment (often referred to as the third teacher), is a space that fosters creativity, independence, and meaningful engagement. Children have access to open-ended materials, including art supplies whenever they choose - not just at predetermined times, allowing for ongoing self-expression and experimentation.
Visiting the Loris Malaguzzi Centre in Italy reinforced my commitment to this approach. Observing firsthand how thoughtfully designed spaces and intentional practices empower children’s learning reaffirmed my belief in fostering a setting where children feel heard, valued, and inspired.
